Artist's Description
This image presents a tranquil scene along the banks of a strongly flowing Merced River in Yosemite National Park in California. Yosemite Valley through which the Merced River flows, is surrounded by towering granite cliffs. The boulder has fallen from the cliffs and made a home for itself in the river. This boulder is a favorite among young people during the summer when the river is lower allowing them to swim out and sun themselves, play, flirt, and jump into the river. Summer memories for many.
